A heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Sarah Lucas on a spectacular PhD defense!! Sarah has been a fantastic graduate student, lab mate, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all the Hunter Lab members. Dr. Lucas will be starting a post-doctoral position with Dr. Pat Schloss in August. We cannot wait to see the bright future she has ahead!

Leslie graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota, College of Biological Sciences with her BS in Microbiology. After graduation Leslie joined the lab full-time as a Researcher continuing her research on the impacts of mucin on Pseudomonas aeruginosa adherence and biofilm growth.

Josh was awarded the MinnCReST T32 fellowship through NIDCR to study Staphylococcus aureus - anaerobe interactions. Congratulations Josh!

Josh joins us from North Carolina State University, and completed his PhD at University of Iowa. He brings with him expertise in bacterial genetics and omics techniques. Josh will be a great addition to the team!

Welcome to our new postdoc Ben Bonis!
Ben completed his Ph.D. in the lab of Jeff Gralnick at UMN. He brings with him expertise in studying redox biochemistry in complex microbial systems. He will be a great addition in applying this knowledge to studying microbial communities in the cystic fibrosis lung.
